Congratulations on your new puppy or kitten !

At the Forest Glade Animal Hospital, we want to help you out as much as possible. Below we have listed some programs created by our team for all new puppies and kittens.

Vaccine Program - Vaccines are recommended at 8,12 and 16 weeks of age to ensure adequate protection. Booster shots are given annually thereafter.

Parasite Prevention Program - Fecal examinations are recommended at 8 and 16 weeks of age. Recheck fecal exams in conjunction with annual booster vaccines is recommended.

Heartworm Prevention Program for dogs - Since the Windsor / Tecumseh area is the number one area for Heartworm in Canada, all dogs should be tested yearly for heartworm in the spring. All puppies and adult dogs should be on preventative medication year round. Your veterinarian will determine what the needs of your pet are and together with you the pet parent will determine the most appropriate product and schedule for your furry family member.

Health Insurance Programs - Pet health insurance will cover expenses for any of those unexpected illnesses or accidents. Ask your veterinary team about the plans available to you or visit the following links to start learning about available services.

PETS + US            Trupanion            Petsecure

Identification Programs - Presently at the Forest Glade Animal Hospital, we can provide a pet microchip identification system or a pet tattoo identification system. We also provide a rabies ID tag after a rabies vaccine.

Obedience Training for dogs - An excellent obedience training program available in the Windsor and the surrounding area:

Behavioural counselling for dogs is available at our hospital, please ask our veterinary team for more details.

Nutrition Program

  • Puppies should be fed a high quality, commercial pet food. Ask our team about a nutrition program for your puppy.

  • Kittens - Nutritional guidance is extremely important for cats because of Feline Urologic Syndrome. Ask our team about diet selection for your kitten.

Again, congratulations on your new furry family member! Please do not hesitate to call us if you require any more information or assistance.
